Intelevision

Background:
Intelevision's ( http://www.intelevision.com/ ) mission is to make it faster and easier for people to find out what is on television, and then provide them with a way of connecting with one another as they watch TV using Internet connected devices. Intelevision calls this Simulsurfing. All a user needs to Simulsurf is a cable or satellite television connection and an Internet connected device (e.g. a laptop computer) - we take care of the rest.

What We Did:
Sofmen worked closely with the Intelevision founders to architect their platform. The challenges were on two fronts, Integrating massive amounts of TV data and creating a cutting edge User Interface that was simple to use.  Sofmen architected and then implemented a robust data driven back-end to support the feature rich UI.

Integration of Data

• TV data, such as episodes guides
• Episode schedule information for all TV markets within the United States
• Channel listings from all the local cable and dish providers

User Interface Features

• Allow user to select their TV provider
• Display all shows available by category, for example, Drama's, Movies, or Top Rated
• Commenting on shows
• Rating shows and suggesting top rated shows
• Adding shows to favorites
• Social networking, adding friends to your network

Sofmen is continues to support Intelevision today and is working on an iPad Application that will serve as interactive TV guide.
